Research Uncorked

The Office of the Vice President for Research is hosting RESEARCH UNCORKED, an informal information sharing, networking, and cheese pairing event for new faculty.  In addition to brief talks given by leading University faculty members about their individual research journeys, leadership and staff from our office and affiliates will be on hand to discuss and answer questions about the services, resources, and support that we provide to researchers over artisanal cheese, bread and wine pairings catered by Pastoral. This event is for new faculty who have been at the University for less than three years, please RSVP here


Tables and topics will include:

·        Arete and Big Ideas Generator: research acceleration, large initiatives, internal seed funding opportunities from across campus that can help kick-start your research

·        Office of Research Safety: training and guidance for conducting safe research

·        UChicagoTech, Center for Technology Development & Ventures: support along the commercialization journey and invention development process

·        Office of the VP for Research and for National Laboratories: career development, broader impact opportunities, institutes and centers, and Argonne and Fermilab partnerships

·        Research Computing Center: high-end research computing resources

·        University Research Administration: research funding, grant management and compliance support
